Get live answer cards from your own documents during calls

Idea + starter prompt, not run by us yet

For: Sales and support people who get asked detailed questions on calls

Parrot is an open-source Mac recorder. You add PDFs, text or Markdown files to its knowledge base, which is indexed on the Mac. It records system audio and mic with no bot joining, transcribes locally with Whisper, and shows answer cards with the source document while the call runs. The model can be Claude, Ollama or another. The site gives cost figures but no accuracy numbers.

Steps

  1. Make sure your Mac runs macOS 14 or newer and has an Apple Silicon chip.
  2. Add only documents you are happy to use as answers to the knowledge base.
  3. Choose fully local mode, or a cloud model like Claude with your own API key.
  4. Tell the other people on the call that you are recording.
  5. Check each card's cited source before repeating its answer.

Starter prompt

Starter prompt. Change the [brackets] first.

I am preparing for calls about [product or service]. From the documents in [folder], write a short list of the 20 questions customers are most likely to ask. For each, write a two sentence answer and name the document and page it comes from. If a document does not answer a question, say so. Do not invent prices or promises that are not in the documents.
