Sort a recipe site down to dishes your picky kids will eat
Idea + starter prompt, not run by us yet
For: Parents who want an AI to handle the small errands that eat their evenings
Beth gave ChatGPT's Codex app a favourite cooking site and asked for dinners two picky kids would eat. It sorted 240 recipes down to 62, in three tiers from safest picks to ones needing tweaks, plus an index file, a spreadsheet you can sort and a Drive folder. She also used ChatGPT's Codex app on her phone to email her son's doctor about a refill.
Steps
- Tell the agent your family's rules: allergies, dislikes and cooking time.
- Ask for three groups and a spreadsheet you can sort, plus a short reason for each pick.
- Turn on approval prompts and give it a sandbox folder, not your whole computer.
- For sending emails from your phone, set up two-step sign-in first and keep the computer awake.
- Read any draft email to a doctor or school yourself before it is sent.
Starter prompt
Trial first: work through only [10] recipes from [recipe website], saved in a spreadsheet called [trial-sheet] inside [sandbox folder]. Show me your approach before you do the other recipes. Find dinner recipes that fit my family. Rules: [allergies], [foods the kids refuse], max [45] minutes. For each recipe, estimate how likely my kids are to eat it and give a one-line reason. Sort them into three tiers: safest picks, decent weeknight options and ones needing tweaks. Save a spreadsheet and an index file in the sandbox folder. This job only reads recipes and writes files in the sandbox folder. Stop and wait for my yes before you save anywhere else, and before any email or order. Showing me a draft email is not permission to send it. Do not email anyone or order anything.
