Ask for email summaries and meeting prep from your phone
Idea + starter prompt, not run by us yet
For: Busy professionals who want inbox help while away from their laptop
For a month, a Fortune writer used Dispatch, which passes jobs from the Claude mobile app to Cowork running on her desktop. While out, she requested inbox summaries, the important emails picked out and prep for her next meeting. It cut inbox clutter a lot, and she could prep for a meeting while queuing for lunch. It failed on Shortcuts and on screenshots outside the app, and was at times slower than doing it herself.
Steps
- Check your plan supports this and your laptop stays awake, signed in and with the app open.
- Ask your IT team first if it is a work computer.
- Start with read-only tasks such as summaries and meeting prep.
- Make it ask you first before it sends or edits anything.
- Expect some tasks to be slower than doing them yourself.
Starter prompt
Read my unread email from [time period]. Give me a short summary and a list of the [number] messages that need me most, with why. Then look at my next calendar meeting and prepare a short brief: who is attending, what was last discussed, and questions to ask. Read only. Do not reply, send, delete or archive anything.
