Shortlist trip hotels near your meeting and log them in a Google Sheet

Idea + starter prompt, not run by us yet

For: Anyone who loses an evening comparing hotels for a business trip

A Claude in Chrome shortcut starts on Booking.com, filters to hotels only, near downtown and rated 4 stars or more, then checks reviews on Booking.com and TripAdvisor. You hand it the dates, a price limit and your sheet link, and it fills one row per hotel. The guide says a list of 10 hotels comes back in 10 to 15 minutes.

Steps

  1. Make a Google Sheet with headers: hotel, price, rating, distance, amenities, link.
  2. Use a Claude Pro account and a separate Chrome profile so the agent only reaches logins you chose.
  3. Create a shortcut that starts at Booking.com and applies your filters.
  4. Give it the city, dates, price cap and sheet link, then leave the active tab alone while it works.
  5. If a site's bot protection blocks it, ask Claude to type more slowly.
  6. Spot-check a few rows against the hotel pages. Book yourself. It stops at the list.

Starter prompt

Starter prompt. Change the [brackets] first.

I need a hotel shortlist for a business trip. City: [city]. Dates: [check-in to check-out]. Must be near [meeting location or area]. Maximum price per night: [amount]. Rating of [4 stars] or higher.

Trial first. Make a copy of my sheet, or add a new tab called [trial], and test with only 3 hotels there. Never write to my real tab during the trial. Tell me which filters you will use and wait for my OK.

Then search hotels only on Booking.com and check reviews on Booking.com and TripAdvisor. In my Google Sheet at [sheet link], add one row per hotel with price, rating, distance from [meeting location], key amenities and the booking link. Choose 10 hotels that meet the most of my rules, and give one line on why each made the list.

You only list hotels. Booking and paying are mine. Stop and ask for my yes before you click anything on a booking or payment page. Showing me the list is not permission to book. Never enter payment details or ask for my passwords. If the site blocks you, slow down and tell me.
