Have an agent build Google Ads campaigns from your keyword list

Idea + starter prompt, not run by us yet

For: Marketers and owners who can run ads but find campaign setup slow

A product manager gave Claude in Chrome a keyword list from Semrush and asked it to plan campaign structure and budget. It then built four campaigns inside her logged-in Google Ads account, writing headlines and copy using competitor ads as reference. She made manual changes before launch and reused most of the copy.

Steps

  1. Export a keyword list from your research tool and note your budget, country and language.
  2. Ask Claude in Chrome for a campaign structure and budget plan first, and read it before it touches Google Ads.
  3. Log in to Google Ads yourself, then let it build the campaigns as drafts or paused ones only.
  4. If headlines come out few or weak, tell it to use your keyword data and raise the number of assets.
  5. Review every headline, description, budget and targeting setting, and fix things by hand before you turn anything on.
  6. Treat early results with care. A short test with a strong conversion rate may just be luck.

Starter prompt

Starter prompt. Change the [brackets] first.

Plan Google Ads campaigns for [business or product] aimed at [country and language]. My keyword list is [pasted list or file]. Monthly budget is [amount].

Trial first, as text only. Use just 5 of my keywords and write a sample structure, 5 headlines and 2 descriptions in a doc called [trial-ads]. Do not open Google Ads for the trial and do not spend anything.

Step 1: after I read the trial, propose the full structure with campaigns, ad groups, which keywords go where and a budget split. Wait for my OK.

Step 2: build the campaigns in my Google Ads account, where I am already logged in. Everything is created paused, never enabled. Stop and wait for my yes before you create each campaign. Showing me the text is not permission to build it. Write plenty of varied headlines and descriptions from my keywords.

Do not enable anything, change billing, raise a budget or enter payment details. Do not ask for my password. When done, list every setting you changed so I can review it.
