Screen a folder of research papers against your criteria
Idea + starter prompt, not run by us yet
For: Students and researchers doing literature reviews with many PDFs
In the Codex app, a user opens a project folder of PDFs or CSV files and adds an AGENTS.md with a role, standards and instructions. Codex reads the files and screens papers against inclusion and exclusion rules, finds articles that argue against a pasted claim, or tidies messy spreadsheets. It writes tables or new files and asks before renaming or saving. The person still checks the results.
Steps
- Put all the papers or data files in one project folder.
- Write an AGENTS.md with your criteria and how results should look.
- Set Codex to ask before it edits, renames or saves files.
- Ask for a table with a reason for every include or exclude decision.
- Check a sample of decisions yourself, since final judgment stays with you.
Starter prompt
The folder [folder] has [number] papers in PDF form. My inclusion criteria are [criteria] and exclusion criteria are [criteria]. Read each paper and make a table with title, year, include or exclude, the reason, and the page where you found it. Mark any paper you are unsure about. Ask me before renaming, moving or saving over any file. I will check your decisions before using them.
