Text your computer from your phone and get a research spreadsheet back
Idea + starter prompt, not run by us yet
For: Creators who want topic research done while they are away from the desk
With computer use switched on in Claude's Mac app, the author put six jobs to the test across two days. In the one that is public, she messaged from her phone using Dispatch. Claude looked through three social sites for posts about the topic she was writing on and saved what it found as a spreadsheet. About 10 minutes later there were 44 posts, plus a second tab grouping them by theme.
Steps
- Make sure you are on a Mac with a paid plan, and switch computer use on.
- Keep the computer on and awake, or tasks sent from the phone stop.
- Send a clear request with the topic, platforms and output file.
- Check which platforms got engagement numbers, since only LinkedIn had them in this test.
- Open a few of the saved posts to make sure they match the topic.
Starter prompt
Search [platforms] for recent posts about [topic]. Collect up to [number] relevant posts with the link, author, date, a one line summary and engagement numbers where shown. Save them in an Excel file on my Desktop called [file name], with a second sheet that groups them into themes. Tell me if you could not get engagement numbers for any platform. Read only. Do not like, follow, comment or post.
