Keep an eye on Reddit and get reply drafts in your own voice
Idea + starter prompt, not run by us yet
For: Solo founders who want a Reddit presence but can't watch threads all day
Using the Agent SDK, one Reddit user made their own Claude helper that watches Reddit, drafts replies and schedules posts. It uses their old posts to copy tone and compares account stats period to period. Drafts wait for their approval before anything is scheduled. They keep it inside their subscription by drafting with Haiku and finishing with Sonnet.
Steps
- Collect a set of your past posts and replies so the agent can learn your tone.
- List the subreddits and keywords worth watching.
- Have the agent draft replies only, and review every draft yourself before it is scheduled.
- Use a cheaper model for first drafts and a stronger one for the final pass to control cost.
- Check account stats against the previous period each week to see what is working.
Starter prompt
Act as my Reddit assistant. Watch these subreddits: [subreddit list] for posts about [topics]. For each relevant post, write a reply draft in my voice, based on these past posts of mine: [paste examples]. Do not post, vote or schedule anything yourself. Put all drafts in one list with the post link, why it matters, and the draft. I will approve or edit each one. Once a week, compare my account stats with the previous period and tell me which kinds of posts performed most strongly. Never ask for my Reddit password.
