Run a morning job that makes a few safe SEO fixes each day

Idea + starter prompt, not run by us yet

For: Site owners who want steady small SEO improvements without a big project

An article shares a prompt to run as a Codex job every morning. It reads analytics, recent content and two notes files, then chooses the five SEO fixes with the most impact that can be safely completed the same day. It favours internal links, metadata, fresh sources and stale high-traffic pages. It makes edits, runs checks, updates the log and reports.

Steps

  1. Make an SEO log file and a checks file in your site repo.
  2. Paste the starter prompt and run it by hand once before you schedule it.
  3. Block it from publishing, pushing, merging or deleting.
  4. Check each change and the test results before you merge.

Starter prompt

Starter prompt. Change the [brackets] first.

Read [analytics export], recent posts in [content folder], [seo-log.md] and [checks.md].

Pick up to five SEO fixes you can complete safely today, such as internal links, page titles and descriptions, or updating old sources on popular pages. Explain why each one matters.

Make the edits on branch [branch name], then run [lint, typecheck or build]. Update [seo-log.md] with what you did and what you inspected. Do not publish, push, merge or delete anything.
