Let Cowork open a website in a side panel and gather information

Idea + starter prompt, not run by us yet

For: People who copy prices or details from websites for comparisons

When a job involves a website, Cowork shows its own browser in a panel beside the chat. Claude visits the site, moves between pages, clicks and fills forms while you watch. It runs apart from your own browser tabs and logins, and importing saved Chrome logins is optional.

Steps

  1. Name the exact sites you want it to use.
  2. Keep login import switched off unless you need it.
  3. Paste the starter prompt and watch the side panel.
  4. Check a few prices or details on the site yourself.

Starter prompt

Starter prompt. Change the [brackets] first.

Compare prices for [product or service] on these sites: [list of sites].

For each site, record the price, any fees, delivery time and the page link. Put the results in a table.

Only read information. Do not log in, add to cart, fill payment details or submit any form. If a site asks for a login, skip it and tell me.
