Set up a teacher's workspace that remembers their class and style

Idea + starter prompt, not run by us yet

For: Teachers who spend evenings on lesson plans, report comments and parent emails

The poster set up a Claude Code workspace teachers can reuse, loaded with the curriculum, marking style, class size and habits of each teacher. The teacher adds their scheme of work and term calendar, then requests lesson plans, report card comments, emails to parents and marking rubrics in their own style.

Steps

  1. Make a folder with your curriculum, term calendar and a note on your teaching style.
  2. Add a few examples of your own lesson plans and report comments.
  3. Paste the starter prompt and ask for one lesson plan first.
  4. Keep student names and private details out of the folder.
  5. Edit each output before you use it in class or send it.

Starter prompt

Starter prompt. Change the [brackets] first.

Read the files in this folder: my curriculum, term calendar, teaching style note and example lessons.

Write a lesson plan for [subject], [year group], week [number], on [topic]. Class size is [number] and the lesson is [length].

Follow my style and the lesson flow in my examples. List the materials needed. Do not include any real student names. I will review and edit before using it.
