Set up a twice-daily rental search that emails you a shortlist

Idea + starter prompt, not run by us yet

For: Renters in a tight market who cannot keep refreshing listing sites

The poster set Claude Cowork to check SpareRoom, OpenRent, Rightmove and Zoopla twice daily. It dropped student lets and larger homes, wrote tailored messages for good-looking listings and emailed a digest to act on from a phone. The poster says this led to a rental within five days.

Steps

  1. Write your filters: area, budget, bedrooms and things to exclude.
  2. Ask Cowork to run the search and show you the first results before it schedules anything.
  3. Ask for a digest email with a link, price and one line on why each listing fits.
  4. Read each drafted message and send it yourself, or approve it one by one.
  5. Check each listing yourself before you pay anything. Rental scams exist.

Starter prompt

Starter prompt. Change the [brackets] first.

Trial first: run one search only, with no schedule and no messages, and save what you find in [trial-results]. Check the results with me before anything is set up.

Search [rental sites] for places to rent in [areas], budget up to [amount] per month, [number] bedrooms, move-in around [date]. Exclude [student lets, shared rooms or other exclusions]. Show me what you find and how you filtered it. Order the results by how many of my rules each listing meets.

Stop and wait for my yes before you schedule the twice-daily digest. Then give me a digest to read on my phone: link, price, size and one line on why it fits. For the listings that meet the most of my rules, draft a short message and show it to me. Showing me a draft is not permission to send. Do not contact any landlord or agent, pay a deposit or enter payment details.
