Refill your grocery cart from past orders and stop before checkout
Idea + starter prompt, not run by us yet
For: Households that buy mostly the same items every week
A developer built a command-line tool and Claude Code skill that works with a supermarket's official MCP server. Tell Claude in plain words to reorder your regular groceries, prefer a sale brand and keep within a budget. It reads past purchases, compares prices, looks at stock and fills the live cart, then hands over for you to check out, set the address and pay.
Steps
- Check whether your supermarket offers an official MCP server or API. Do not scrape without permission.
- Install the tool as the source describes, with pip or uvx, and connect it to your account yourself.
- Give a plain instruction: reorder the usual items, prefer sale brands, stay under [budget].
- Review the cart line by line before you pay. Prices, brands and quantities may be off.
- Do checkout, delivery address and payment yourself.
Starter prompt
Trial first: rebuild only [3] items from my order history into the cart, then show me the cart and stop. If I ask, remove them again. Do not do the full shop yet. Look at my past orders at [supermarket] and rebuild my usual weekly shop in the cart. Swap an item for a similar sale item only when it is cheaper and the brand is close. Stay under [budget] in total and skip anything out of stock, listing what you skipped. Show me the planned list with quantities and prices before you add anything. Stop and wait for my yes before each batch of items goes into the cart, and again when the cart is ready. A good list is not permission to buy. Do not check out, change my address or enter payment details, and never ask for my password.
