Prepare a consumer complaint with a research file and a step plan
Idea + starter prompt, not run by us yet
For: People stuck in a refund or billing dispute with a company
The author describes each dispute by voice. Claude replies with a research file on the contract, the company's own marketing, other customers' complaints and the right regulator, plus a multi-step plan. The Chrome extension lets it complete complaint forms. He reads every email and handles the calls himself. After seven months he reports ten disputes won.
Steps
- Write down the facts: what you bought, what went wrong, dates and what the company has said so far.
- Ask Claude for a dossier of your contract terms, the company's own claims and the regulator that handles complaints.
- Expect generic first advice and push for specifics, such as an arbitration clause in the terms or a formal regulator complaint.
- Read every email and form before it goes out. Make the calls yourself.
- Keep a log of dates and replies so each next step builds on the last.
Starter prompt
Trial first: run the whole thing once on a made-up dispute, a [small online order] that never arrived, to show me the format. Save it in [trial-dossier]. Use my real case only after I say yes. I have a dispute with [company] about [what happened]. Facts and dates: [paste]. Contract terms or policy text I have: [paste]. Build a dossier: what the terms say, what the company promised publicly, which regulator or ombudsman handles this in [country], and which escalation routes exist. Then propose a step-by-step plan with a draft first message. Stop and wait for my yes before anything is sent, filed or submitted. A draft is a pause, not permission. I send every message, fill every form and make every call myself. Do not invent legal rules and say when you are unsure. Do not ask for card numbers or passwords.
