Use Claude in Chrome for quick prospect research and design checks
Idea + starter prompt, not run by us yet
For: Sales people and builders who spend hours flipping between browser tabs
In a Reddit thread, one user opens a mock-up file and the live app in two tabs and asks Claude in Chrome to list every UX difference. They then fix the issues in Claude Code. Another uses the extension for quick company research before outreach and to draft personalised LinkedIn messages and emails.
Steps
- Install the Claude in Chrome extension and open it in the side panel.
- For design checks, open the mock-up and the live app in two tabs and ask for a differences document.
- For sales research, give it the company name and ask for a short brief before you write to anyone.
- Read every drafted message and fix it yourself. Send it from your own account.
- For code fixes, take the list into Claude Code. The extension only gathered the differences.
Starter prompt
Trial first: compare just [one page] in the two tabs, and for the research part use one public company page, [public company]. If the live app holds real customer data, use a test account or a staging copy. I have two browser tabs open: [tab 1, the mock-up] and [tab 2, the live app]. Compare them page by page and write a document listing each UX and UI difference: what the mock-up shows, what the live app shows and how much it matters. Tell me which pages you plan to look at before you start. Keep the list short enough to hand to a developer. This job only looks and writes. Do not click anything that submits, saves or deletes, and do not type into any form. For sales research, write a short brief only. Stop and wait for my yes before you draft any message to a person, and I send it myself. A draft is not permission to send.
