Pair a browser agent with Claude Code to test web pages as you build
Idea + starter prompt, not run by us yet
For: Front-end developers tired of switching tabs to repeat a UI bug
The author relies on the Claude in Chrome sidebar, which can move between pages, click, read page elements and watch console errors and network calls. Used alongside Claude Code, the cycle is: code a change, let the browser agent load it, try it out and catch issues.
Steps
- Install the Claude in Chrome extension on a paid plan.
- Use a separate browser profile for testing, since it can see browser traffic.
- Run your app locally and paste the starter prompt.
- Check each reported problem yourself before fixing.
Starter prompt
My app is running at [local address]. I just changed [feature or page]. Open the page in the browser, click through [steps to test] and watch the console and network calls. Report: what you clicked, what happened, any console errors and any failed network calls. Suggest the likely cause in my code. Do not submit real forms or change any settings. Only use the test account in [test config file].
