Pick which newsletters to drop, then unsubscribe in one go

Idea + starter prompt, not run by us yet

For: Anyone whose inbox is buried under newsletters they never read

A PCWorld writer had Claude in Cowork review a Gmail label and list newsletters safe to cut, without acting yet. Claude asked him about each one with its own advice. Then it used the Chrome extension to click unsubscribe. It dropped 21 newsletters in about five minutes and suggested a routine to mark any return as spam.

Steps

  1. Connect Gmail to Cowork on a paid Claude plan.
  2. Ask for a list of candidates first and tell it not to act yet.
  3. Answer its questions one newsletter at a time and keep the ones you want.
  4. Let it unsubscribe only from the ones you picked and watch the browser while it works.
  5. Check your inbox a week later for any that came back.

Starter prompt

Starter prompt. Change the [brackets] first.

Look through my Gmail label [label name] and list newsletters I could unsubscribe from. Do not unsubscribe from anything yet.

For each one, show the sender, how often it arrives, when I last opened one if you can tell, and your advice: keep or drop. Ask me to confirm each one.

After I confirm, unsubscribe only from the ones I marked drop. Show me the final list of what you did. Do not delete any emails.
