Let an agent book travel but stop before it pays

Idea + starter prompt, not run by us yet

For: Busy owners who book a lot of flights and hotels and want the form-filling done for them

Boris Cherny wrote his flight preferences into his Cowork instructions and let it handle 8 flights and 5 hotels while he worked elsewhere. The setup offers three options, a person chooses one, then the agent enters names, loyalty numbers and seat choices and halts at the payment page.

Steps

  1. Write your travel preferences in the project instructions, such as seat, airline and budget.
  2. Start with research only. The author found browser booking finicky.
  3. Approve one option yourself before the agent fills in any booking form.
  4. Never put card details in the instructions. Pay yourself at the final screen.
  5. Check names, dates and seats on the confirmation before you pay.

Starter prompt

Starter prompt. Change the [brackets] first.

Find travel options for this trip: from [city] to [city], leaving [date], returning [date]. My preferences: [seat, airline, hotel area, budget].

Step 1: Show me three options for flights and three for hotels, with price and times. Wait for me to pick.
Step 2: For the one I pick, fill in the traveller details from [my saved profile notes].
Step 3: Stop at the payment page and tell me. I will pay myself.

Never ask for my card number or passwords in this chat.
