Research prospects and update your CRM before outreach
Idea + starter prompt, not run by us yet
For: Sales teams that spend hours researching each lead before writing to them
Commenters described agents that read a prospect's website and recent LinkedIn, fill in lead and company details, pick useful signals and draft a structured opener. Weaker drafts go to a person to review. A second setup linked several sales tools so the agent could watch inboxes, refresh records and write reply drafts at set times.
Steps
- Start with one narrow job, such as filling in company details plus a first draft.
- Give Claude Code a short sheet of ten leads to test on.
- Paste the starter prompt and check each filled-in field against the source link.
- Keep a person reviewing every reply and any risky message.
- Watch the cost of paid data tools before you run it on a big list.
Starter prompt
Here is a list of [number] leads in [file name]. For each lead, look at their company website and any public profile I have listed. Add these columns: what the company does, company size if stated, one recent signal worth mentioning, and the source link for each fact. Then draft a short opener for each lead. Mark any draft you are not confident about for manual review. Show me the first three rows before doing the rest. Do not send emails or update [my CRM] until I approve.
