Let an agent browse your blog and write an SEO check report

Idea + starter prompt, not run by us yet

For: Site owners who want a plain list of SEO problems and fixes before going live

A developer pointed Claude Code with a Puppeteer browser tool at a local copy of their blog. It made its own task list, visited pages, checked meta tags, speed, structured data and phone views, then wrote a markdown report with files to change and code fixes.

Steps

  1. Install a browser tool for Claude Code, such as a Puppeteer MCP server.
  2. Run a local copy of your site so the agent can visit it safely.
  3. Paste the starter prompt and let it build its own checklist first.
  4. Read the report and mark which findings come from dev-only settings, like noindex tags on a test server.
  5. Fix the real issues in a branch, then run the same audit again.

Starter prompt

Starter prompt. Change the [brackets] first.

Audit the SEO of my site running at [local address]. Use the browser tool to visit the main pages.

First show me your checklist. Include meta titles and descriptions, robots and noindex tags, page speed, structured data, headings and the phone layout.

Then write the findings to [report file name].md. For each issue, name the file to change and suggest the fix. Mark any issue that only exists because this is a dev server. Do not change any files until I approve the report.
